George Bush is questioning whether or not to attack Iran AND use tactical nukes in an effort to get rid of Iran's ability to get nukes. It's in an article by Seymore Hersh in the New Yorker.

In the article there is a small paragraph about Bush and his legacy. Aparently his NEW desired legacy is to "save Iran."

God, I though it was Iraq. Now it's Iran? I know....his only legacy will be to fuck up every country in the world with war. And don't forget the good old US of A. We all know what he's already done to us.

I've been feeling down recently and that's why I haven't posted. Actually, I've been feeling more or less down for the past 3 months. Today I actually think I pinpointed the reason: I'm aimless. No, I'm not saying I have nothing to live for but what I am saying is that I don't feel as if I'm going anywhere. Don't pity me, and I'm not whining. Rather, I'm happy I've figured why I'm blue. Now I'm going to do something about it. Just watch. No, it's nothing crazy.

I'm passionate about politics. I'm passionate for the progressive blogosphere. I would like to see something happen in this country that is beneficial for the people. I think the Democrats can deliver on that, but sadly most Democrats in Congress are hesitant to challenge the administration because they think it might create a rallying effect around the president. I see that point of view and I actually endorse it. If we want to win, why would we shot ourselves in the foot now? The administration is doing a good enough job at it itself. Isn't the news bad enough for the Congressional Republicans; Katrina, Iraq, SS, Medicare, etc? I do think we need to wait 'til after the election on '06 elections to really strike back at the administration win or loose. I'm confident we'll make inroads but I don't think we'll take either the House (our best shot) or the Senate. I don't think it's in the stars. I don't think people are ready for the Democrats quite yet despite all the polling. I wish they were. I'm not being pessimistic just trying to get a feel for things and I'm beginning to feel it with the people but it's just not the fire I'm looking for, we'll see.

Anywho, I've been reading Glenn Greenwald recently. I love him and his diligence. I've dropped Americablog because they're just a bunch of rabid haters. They have nothing positive to say. So I encourage all to read Glenn. He speaks the truth!

Ted Stevens had an emotional outburst on the Senate floor last night. It was kind of sad to watch. He even gave the appearance of resigning from the Senate, but when asked about it, Stevens said, "I don't know ."

Wow! With so much going on with the Bush Administration, I almost want to go back on my word and no talk about God, but I shall, keep my word!

So I was talking about my relationship with God and how I didn't really think that I ever had one. I grew up Catholic. My parents made me go to Sunday School. I HAD to go to my 1st confession, which I hated. My brother, Matt, was my confirmation sponsor. I was an alter boy. I was made to do all those things that a person who is going through "the ritual" was supposed to do. I even remember my priest telling my parents that out of all of my brothers and sisters, that I would be the one most likely to be a priest. I am so glad that didn't come to pass.

I've always looked for a higher purpose in life. The life that I was living couldn't be it. There had to be a purpose, a reason. Don't get me wrong, my life was fine, and I would say "normal." In fact, I was lucky. I got to be the one out of my siblings to go to Europe. I was the one to get the 1st car. But, that still didn't do it for me. The wheels in my brain were always looking for something.

I think the most beneficial thing for me was when my parents got divorced. Yeah, that fucking sucked, but it set a stage of events that have sent me on a path of personal "growing up." Why in the hell would God allow this to happen to our family? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know we're all supposed to have free will, but that still doesn't answer the question. This happens ALL the time. Where is God? In fact, those so-called "miracles" don't even happen all that much. I am to believe that God is up there with a little wand and decides to tap some random sole and "cures" him and then proceeds to allow thousands to die in an earthquake or a damn hurricane? Does God really care about us or is he really impotent? And if God is impotent, or doesn't care, and he can't, or chooses not to, intervene in our events, then he can't posibily exist or is a major asshole. He wouldn't have been able to, or chose, not to "put" a soul into our body when we were conceived.

Now, I'm not saying that God doesn't exist, even though it seems I'm saying that in the last sentence I wrote. I think, though, I can safely say that he hasn't ever exerted himself in my life. Now, I don't feel empty. I have a ton in my life. I'm lucky. And, maybe that's what it's all about: luck and playing the cards right....nah...life is luck.

So, I've been thinking a lot about God lately, and my relationship with God. I've come to a conclusion. I really don't have a relationship with God. It's that I don't want to have a relationship with God. I've never really had the need to have a relationship with God. In the next few posts, along with the news and politics, I'll talk about God and religion. Then I will have successfully labeled myself as a "bad date" in talking about the things that I like to talk about more than anything when I'm not supposed to on a date. Maybe that's why I'm single!?!?

Peak Oil has been one of the scarier things to talk about lately. Things changing wildly can't be exciting to address. Some scientists are doomsdayers saying the world will reach peak oil production this year and then the world will go into a downward spiral as less and less oil is being produced. Others with a more positive outlook say technology will come to our rescue so we don't have to give up computers, cell phones, and things like heat, and electricity.
